The latest release from Finland-based Saxdor Yachts, the 340 GTWA, is more than just a 10-meter motorboat—it represents a shift in mindset that only a modern watercraft can offer. Saxdor promises that the 340 GTWA will set a new standard in both design and functionality, and first impressions confirm that this is no empty marketing claim.
The boat’s most striking feature is its walkaround design, which connects the wheelhouse to the deck and allows for unrestricted movement from bow to stern. Unlike most boats in the same size class, the 340 GTWA features wide electric side terraces that, when opened, dramatically expand the outdoor deck space. The result is like bringing together two different worlds: a cabin that shelters you from rain and wind, and an open deck area designed for sunny weather—all in one package.
At the heart of the design is a vacuum-infused fiberglass body and a two-stage deep V-shaped hull—a carefully considered engineering choice that ensures both stability at low speeds and fuel efficiency when sailing in more challenging conditions. There’s plenty of speed to spare: a top speed of up to 50 knots, making the 340 GTWA one of the fastest in its class.
The layout is well-thought-out and versatile. The bow features a U-shaped sofa, while the stern has a bench. This comfortably accommodates eight passengers on board—whether for a picnic at sea or a longer adventure. In addition, the aft area can be converted into a separate cabin, offering a peaceful night’s rest even during the most unexpected port stops for the most unexpected guests.
The 340 GTWA features a cleverly designed steering system. The joystick maneuvering system allows the boat to be moved sideways or rotated around its axis—in tight spaces, this is invaluable even for an experienced sailor. When navigating, the captain is assisted by large screens, radar, and other sensors, which make night navigation just as safe as daytime navigation.
No compromises have been made when it comes to the interior. All seating areas are upholstered with durable, handcrafted marine fabrics, available in a range of color palettes, from light yellow to deep ocean blue.
